Answers to the questions people ask most. Where this page says Settings: on the website it's in the menu, and on the phone, tap More, then Settings. If your question isn't here, email hello@evolveos.app.

Signing in

How do I sign in?

In the app, or on the website at app.evolveos.app, type your email and password and tap Sign in. The same account works on both, and they stay in step. On the website you can also choose Email link to be sent a link that signs you in, instead of typing your password.

Can I make an account?

For now, new accounts are by invitation. If you've been invited, tap Create an account on the sign-in screen, enter your email, choose a password of at least 8 characters, then open the link we email you. If the app says your email isn't on the guest list, ask the person who invited you to add it.

I forgot my password

  1. On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot your password?
  2. Enter your email and tap Email me a reset link.
  3. Open the link in the email. It opens a page on the website where you choose your new password.
  4. Sign in with the new password, on the website and on your phone.

The link works once. If it says it has expired or was already used, ask for a new one. There's no way to change your password in Settings yet, so this is also how you change it.

The confirmation email hasn't arrived

Our emails come from hello@evolveos.app, with the subject "Confirm your email for EvolveOS" or "Reset your EvolveOS password". They usually arrive within a few minutes.

Why did it land in spam?

EvolveOS is new, and some email services are careful with mail from senders they haven't seen before, so the first email can end up in spam, junk, or a tab like Gmail's Promotions. If you find it there, mark it as not spam and add hello@evolveos.app to your contacts. That helps the next ones reach your inbox.

Still nothing?

On the phone, open the confirmation link on the same phone: it opens EvolveOS, signed in.

Sharing your space with a partner

Everything you add is kept in your space. You can share it with one other person, such as a partner, so you both see and change the same things.

How do I invite someone?

  1. Go to Settings → Your space and tap Invite someone. You get a 12-character code, like K7QF-M2XD-9HTA.
  2. Send it to them: tap Copy code on the website, or Share code on the phone.
  3. They sign in to their own account, go to Settings → Your space, type the code under Join with a code, and tap Join.

A code works once, for 24 hours, and a space holds two people. Give it only to the person you're inviting: anyone who has it can join your space and see everything in it.

What happens to their own things when they join?

They see your space instead of their own. Anything in their old space stays behind: it isn't moved, and they can't go back to it. So it's best to join before adding much.

The code doesn't work

Capitals and dashes don't matter. If the code is more than 24 hours old, or has already been used, ask for a new one. After 5 wrong tries, wait an hour before trying again. Inviting and joining need an internet connection.

Can I remove someone from my space?

Not from inside the app yet. Email us and we'll help.

Scanning receipts and payment screenshots

How do I scan a receipt?

  1. In Finance, tap + to add a transaction.
  2. At the top, tap Scan a receipt. On the phone, choose Take a photo or Choose a photo; on the website, pick a photo.
  3. In a few seconds, the receipt's lines appear, grouped by category. Tap a line to change it, and check that they add up to the receipt's total.
  4. Tap Save. Nothing is saved until you do.

Can it read a screenshot of a payment?

Yes. The same button reads a screenshot from a bank app, a card notification, a wallet or a text message, such as "E£450 at Carrefour". One payment becomes one transaction to check before you save it. If the screenshot shows several payments, you get a list: tick the ones to add, then tap Add. Ones that look as if you've already added them go last, unticked.

It couldn't read my photo, or got something wrong

Your photo is read by Google's Gemini and then thrown away. We don't keep it. The Privacy policy has the details.

The free trial, Plus and codes

What happens after the 14 days?

Your space becomes read-only: everything is still there to see and export, but adding or changing things needs EvolveOS Plus. Nothing is deleted. As soon as your space has Plus, everything works again.

I have a Plus code. Where do I use it?

On the website, signed in: Settings → EvolveOS Plus → Have a code? From any browser, including your phone's: evolveos.app/redeem, with your EvolveOS email and password. If you signed up with Google, email us your code and we'll add it for you.

Does my partner need Plus too?

No. Plus belongs to the space, so everyone in it shares it. Inviting a partner needs Plus once the trial is over.

It says I'm out of scans

Each person gets a number of scans and AI requests a month (Settings shows how many are left). When they run out, tap Enter by hand; they come back at the start of next month.

Exporting your data

Go to Settings → Backup & restore and tap Export. You get one file with everything you've entered: money, habits, moods and journal, meals, health records, work, and your settings. On the website it downloads; on the phone, you choose where to save it. Files you uploaded to health records, such as photos and PDFs, aren't inside it.

To bring a backup back, use Import on the website or Restore on the phone. A backup from the phone works on the website, and the other way round. Restoring replaces everything in your space, on every device, so only do it when you mean to.

Deleting your account

Go to Settings and scroll to the bottom: Delete my account. The app says what will happen, then gives you a last chance before Delete for good. It needs an internet connection.

It can't be undone, so export a backup first if you might want anything back.

Still stuck?

Email hello@evolveos.app. Tell us what you were doing, what you expected and what happened instead, and whether you were on the phone or the website. A screenshot helps.
